We will take a brief look at the work has been done recently.
In the first part phase transitions in matrix field models with a complex skew-symmetric field and a hermitian one are explored via both the ε-expansion and the functional renormalization group. In most cases, these models are shown to undergo fluctuation-driven first-order phase transitions.
The use of the renormalization group to reveal the effect of developed turbulence on the critical behaviour of fluids is outlined in the second part.
