Abstract Investigation of observables at different centrality intervals proves to be quite informative in reconstruction of the space-time picture of nucleus–nucleus collisions. Using events simulated by generator DCM-SMM we calculate centrality in heavy ion collisions at NICA energies which is determined by multiplicity of charged particles given by TPC and nuclear fragments registered by FHCal. In non-central heavy ion collisions the initial anisotropy of the interaction zone in relation to the reaction plane (RP) results in the azimuthal anisotropy of emitting particles in momentum space. We studied the feasibility of TPC and FHCal to reconstruct the RP. Reconstruction of RP is performed with the usage of the elliptic and directed flows of emitted particles in simulated non-central events.
