After some tests the straw team will be ready to check with Timepix also - data analysis: - the data should be used without the default clustering, new clustering based on geometrical consideration needs to be implemented - data merging can be ongoing at first being based on the central pixel (Artem), - clustering - should be worked out by someone from the Timepix group ==> Straws - Dima's slides on the current problems - external clock for Tiger - time shift between two GemRocs, to be checked - if the time shift is constant? 3 runs = 3 peaks - seems to be the case?? - (not in slides) shoulders for ext. pulse are seen for external clock mode only, depends on termination resistance => to be investigated (Vitaly, Dima) - "x-talks/reflection peask" between the Tiger with digital IN and other Tigers - not clear from the slides, but seems running Tigers with MM only has no such problem, but running one of Tigers with digital IN connected influences other Tigers even if they are not at the same board => to be discussed in TB chat with Alberto (Vitaly) => test with external clock with two GemRocs - may be cures the problem? to be tested - the most important problems *** dying Tiger channels, mostly the ones with 5 mm straw => test with Fe and GGMonitor electronics (later mu2e - needs x-board) - Vitaly, Dima - find Fe peak position for 10mm straw @ 1750 V + scan several HV points around expected results: 1) Fe peak position for 40k gain 2) relative gas gain vs HV with the known point at 1750V (40k) 3) space charge check for given Fe source - Find HV corresponding to 40k gain on 5 mm straw using a good straw, try to find HV for 45k and 25k, measure the peak position at 1500 V expected results: 1) HV for gain uniformity check (probably starting with 25k gain) 2) HV for 25k for Assel's studies 3) gain for 1500 V - Do measurements along the straw length for bad straws (start with 25k) - 5 mm from the edges and the central point (i.e. 3 spectra per straw) expected result: 1) if straws are displaced, the signal will differ for the edges and centre 2) if sparks etc, should be seen in the spectrum as well *** "noise" in 20mm straw at H4, disappearing at H8 - electronics vs straw problem - to be resolved => analysis - comparison of the noise outside spills in the data from H4 and H8 (also for other straws) - Andrey, Dima => check with a scope the signals from the straws at 2100V => UPD : test with Fe shows strange spectra, to be understood (scope?..) May be 20mm straws to be added to the investigation with Fe - Andrey's slides on the data analysis - different resolution for Crystal ball and Gauss => fits to be checked, examples of fits to be shown always for the resolution slides - both 5 and 10 mm have asymmetric time resolution, RT for 10 mm is asymmetric => R-T in mean values to be plot for all straws, centrality of all straws to be checked (Andrey) - 20 mm straws - "noise" at H4 vs "good behaviour" at H8 - but strange response to Fe at H8?? (To be confirmed) - nevertheless basic analysis of H8 data gives resolution comparable to SHiP TB => data from H8 and H4 to be compared in more details...
