Dear colleagues,

In 2025, the 125th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Wladimirovich Timofeeff-Ressovsky will be celebrated. His research into the laws of biology was based on the laws of physics. His friend was Niels Bohr, who laid the foundations of quantum mechanics; the colleagues and co-authors of the famous work "Uber die Natur der Genmutation und der Genstruktur" were physicists K. Zimmer and M. Delbruck. Timofeeff-Ressovsky's research has greatly advanced the understanding of the laws of biology, founded scientific schools in Russia, Germany, Armenia, Ukraine, etc. Biology at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is also associated with Timofeeff-Ressovsky.
The first conference "Modern Problems of Genetics, Radiobiology, Radioecology, and Evolution" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of N.W. Timofeeff-Resovsky's birth was organized in 2000 (Dubna). The conference discussed issues of reparation, mutagenesis, and the effects of low doses of radiation in polluted areas after the Chernobyl accident. The following conferences featured reports on epigenetics and the bystander effect. We continue Timofeeff-Ressovsky's tradition of developing the latest ideas. Now we will discuss quantum effects in biology.
In 2025, at the VI International Conference "Modern Problems of Genetics, Radiobiology, Radioecology and Evolution: Quantum Biology" (GRRE25) in Dubna, the general laws of quantum physics and thermodynamics will be presented and their manifestation in genetics, radiobiology, ecology and evolution will be discussed.
