Description
The Electron String Ion Sources (ESIS) are chosen as the basic ion sources for the injector complex of superconducting collider of heavy ions NICA at JINR. The project paremeters of NICA ESIS are (1-3)х10^9 Au31+ ppp with a repetion rate of 50 Hz. Recent results of basic studies of heavy ion beam production (Ar16+, Kr29+, Xe42+, Tm50+, Au32+) on new KRION-6T ESIS will be presented. Possible application of ESIS for carbon-ion therapy accelerators will be discussed.
