Description
One of the most challenging and fast developing problems in modern nuclear physics is concerned with the investigation and studies of exotic nuclei. These are the nuclei located far from beta stability valley and close to neutron and proton driplines. The properties of exotic nuclei can be extremely different comparing to the ones for stable nuclei. This is why exotic nuclei are of the great interest among physicists. The main tools to study these nuclei are the experiments on the radioactive ion beams (RIBs). A number of international nuclear centers are hosting RIB facilities – GANIL (France), GSI (Germany), RIKEN (Japan), NSCL (USA). In this report the RIB facility ACCULINNA (FLNR JINR) is over-viewed. The coming updated fragment-separator ACCULINNA-2 potential and possibilities are discussed.
