Description

The IT department of IFIN-HH coordinates, since 2006, the RO-LCG Tier2 federation, which is a consortium of five institutions that represents the Romanian participation in the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) collaboration. DFCTI has continuously provided support for three of the LHC experiments – Alice, Atlas and LHCb – in a global computing environment that has steadily evolved in accordance with the WLCG’s and EGI's requirements. DFCTI also operates the internet node through which five of the seven RO-LCG sites are connected to GEANT through the NREN. This report reviews the current status of the grid infrastructure developed by DFCTI and its role within the RO-LCG Tier2 federation. The measures implemented for the improvement of the data transfer, the solutions for managing multiple queues dedicated to specific tasks, and the strategy adopted to enhance the processing of the Atlas, LHCb, and Alice jobs are presented.
