Summary
The aim of this review is to summarize all experience about BOINC’s issues obtained by developers and researchers during the work on their own BOINC based projects in order to determine directions of development for BOINC platform. During the review we learned that BOINC platform are using by different groups of users for different aims. Researcher, who use BOINC to organize their own small distributed computing network, are concerned about unattractive project’s website, pour functionality of integrated blog, not intuitive administration panel, difficulties with creating jobs and difficult installation process. All these issues are connected with front-end side of BOINC-project and project creating and maintaining. However, users who use BOINC as a framework to create their own application and researchers with their own highload BOINC based project are concerned about different type of issues. They faced with BOINC’s limitations in server application’s productivity, project’s scalability and outdated technologies. After that have been claimed possible ways of BOINC’s development in order to meet needs of BOINC’s users.
