Minutes of the MPD meeting on "Vorticity and Polarization in Heavy-Ion Collisions".
Meeting’s agenda:
Main points:
- check polarization along the normal to the scattering plane in different collision systems (dilution effect should be smaller)
- longitudinal polarization ("Spin polarizations in a covariant angular momentum conserved chiral transport model" S. Y. F. Liu, Y. Sun and C. M. Ko, arXiv:1910.06774 [nucl-th])
- indirect lambdas (main contribution from sigma_0) -> need ECAL (electromagnetic decay, to measure photons) -> might be used to separate this polarization from primary lambdas -> coordinate with dilepton program?
- include extra decays within the thermodynamic model (transfer factors in 1610.02506, 1610.04717)
- how to properly deal with polarization vector
- Bravina et.al.: stop at the last non-elastic scattering -> gives larger polarization of anti-lambdas
