Description

The High Momentum Particle Identification (HMPID) detector of the ALICE experiment has been designed to extend the useful range for the identification of charged pions and kaons in the range 1 ≤ p ≤ 3 GeV/c and protons in the range 2 ≤ p ≤ 5 GeV/c, based on proximity focusing Ring Imaging Cherenkov (RICH) counters.

Electronic engineer Raúll Arteche from the Center for Technological Applications and Nuclear Development (CEADEN, Havana, Cuba) has been actively participating during the last two years on the upgrading of the FPGA firmware of the Readout Common Board (RCB) of the HMPID; additionally he is currently part of the team working on the integration of the detector to the O2 framework.

In this seminar Arteche will present his experiences related to HMPID experiment and will address the possible topics he might be contributing to for the development of the readout of the MPD-ITS.

Note: Meeting start time is Thursday, Nov. 19,  02h00 (Havana)  / 10h00 (Moscow).
