XVI Collaboration Meeting of the MPD Experiment at NICA is organized in Dubna, Russia at the V.I.Veksler and A.M.Baldin LABORATORY OF HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on October 28-30, 2025 either in person or remotely.
The meeting will present the current status and progress of the MPD project. Detector experts will present the status of the superconducting magnet, central barrel and forward detector subsystems, including electronics, cooling systems, and assembly infrastructure. Plans for the start-up of the NICA accelerator complex and the commissioning of the MPD detector will also be discussed, as well as the available options for operation on the first day. The computing and software infrastructure of the experiment for the operation, calibration, and alignment of detectors will be reviewed. The current status of the detector upgrade in Phase II will be discussed. The results of the physical feasibility studies, with an emphasis on the results expected in the first years of detector operation in collider and fixed target modes, will be reviewed by the PWG conveners. Recent results from heavy ion experiments operating in comparable energy ranges, as well as progress in theory and model development, will be presented by invited speakers.
