The possibility to investigate exclusive mesons production at NICA was studied. It seems that one of the essential reaction might be exclusive Phi or J/Psi production which is dominated by a gluon GPDs. The main goal of SPD is the investigation of lepton pairs with high invariant mass production in the collision of polarized protons. In the proposed talk I would discuss the production of μ+ μ− pairs and light vector mesons in electromagnetic fields of two colliding heavy nuclei and challenges which appear in this activity direction for SPD.
