The 7th International Conference "Distributed Computing and Grid-technologies in Science and Education" (GRID 2016)

4 – 9 July, 2016
Dubna, Russia

The International Conference "Distributed Computing and Grid-technologies in Science and Education" will be held at the Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT) of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) on 4 - 9 July 2016.

This year Conference is dedicated to the 60'th anniversary of JINR and 50’th anniversary of LCTA/LIT.

The forthcoming conference will be the seventh one organized by the JINR Laboratory of Information Technologies starting from 2004. Since then, distributed computing and Grid-technologies have gone far beyond the academic interest. At present, those technologies allow federated computing centers around the world to provide resources to highly distributed user communities. Modern technologies require development of high-performance and high-throughput computing. The coverage of those activities encompasses not only various areas of natural sciences but also business and industry. Over the last years, the implemented distributed computing model enabled the solution of a wide class of tasks, involving the processing of an enormous amount of data.

The previous conference (http://grid2014.jinr.ru) was attended by more than 250 participants. Over 100 reports were presented. A special section was devoted to the emerging direction of cloud computing. The reports in the field of distributed computing and Grid were presented by conference participants from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Ukraine. Contributions covered state-of-the-art technologies and activities.
The Conference Proceedings are available both as hard copies and on-line in the special issue of the journal “Computer Research and Modeling” (http://crm-en.ics.org.ru/journal/issue/167/ Number 3, 2015 Vol. 7, ISSN: 2076-7633 (Print), 2077-6853 (Online)).

The main purpose of the Conference is to discuss the current Grid operation and the future role of the Grid in Russia and worldwide as well as similar technologies for data-intensive computations: cloud computing, BigData etc. The Conference provides a platform for discussing fresh results and for establishing contacts for closer cooperation in future.

The GRID2016 organizing committee has opened a Call for Participation. Abstracts can now be submitted online through the event’s Indico pages

Registration can be done online through the Grid2016 Indico pages.

For online abstract submission you should register in the JINR Indico system (if you have Indico login and password, registered earlier on other conference, you have to use it, don’t create a new Indico’s registration). Please remember your login and password for sending new abstracts or editing your profile or abstract. The system allows modifications up to the moment, when the abstract status is changed to Accepted.

Also you can send the abstract by e-mail to grid2016@jinr.ru
