Investigation of ionizing radiation effect on structural properties of Cu films

We investigate the effect of irradiation with low-energy He+2 ions on structural properties of Cu films in this paper. The studying of structural properties and morphology of films surface before and after irradiation was carried out using SEM, EDA, and XRD analysis. It was established that an increase in the irradiation dose leads to a decrease in the degree of crystallinity and a change in the basic crystallographic characteristics. The effect of irradiation on the strength characteristics was also evaluated.
