Minutes of the MPD meeting on "Vorticity and Polarization in Heavy-Ion Collisions".

Meeting’s agenda:

  • Global Polarization within the model of three-fluid dynamics (Y. Ivanov).

  • Discussion.

Main points:

  • comparison between thermodynamic approach (Becattini equation through Wigner function) and axial vortical effect
  • estimate of the mean vorticity in the midrapidity region (|y|<0.7 - hydrodynamic rapidity)
  • study of the correlations between polarization, directed/elliptic flow, angular momentum: visible correlation between v_1 and J, both change sign
  • AVE gives too high polarization at low energies so far
  • model doesn't have particlization, there is a generator based on 3FD with particlization for mpdroot (without polarization) -> needs to be tested

Plans:

  • unite output for the models (PHSD, QGSM) for the simulation with mpdroot
  • check the 3FD generator
