We invite you to join the JINR Cinema Club to watch Good Will Hunting, a 1997 award-winning drama film directed by Gus Van Sant and written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The film will be shown in English with Russian subtitles.
Will Hunting is a 20-year-old wunderkind from Boston who keeps getting into trouble. When the police arrest him for yet another fight, a math professor takes him under his wing, but on one condition: Will must undergo psychotherapy. The "re-education" sessions, which begin with mistrust, gradually develop into a friendship between Will and his mentor.
We will show the film in English with Russian subtitles!
18:30 – Chess tournament

Everyone interested are welcome to take part in a chess tournament.
On October 20, 1959, the first meeting of JINR chess players took place at the JINR Scientists' Club. This served as an impetus for the development of chess sports in the entire city of Dubna. Championships of the Scientists' Club, JINR, Dubna, and blitz tournaments began to be held regularly. The most exciting were team competitions between JINR laboratories, which attracted a large number of participants and fans.
The chess club still exists today, with regular club meetings, tournaments, and master classes.

19:00 – Lecture about public speaking

There will be a lecture by Ekaterina Ovchinnikova entitled "Secrets of Public Speaking: How to Speak Without Preparation and Answer Awkward Questions".
How can you stop fearing questions, even from the most authoritative people? How can improvisation help you answer the trickiest questions? How can you develop the ability to speak and think simultaneously?
Ekaterina Ovchinnikova, a public speaking teacher, director, actress, and author of the courses Oratory Foundation: Learning Basics and Overcoming Fear, knows the answers to these questions. Please note that the lecture will be in Russian!

Quiz game is a fun intellectual and entertaining battle with prizes, where teams compete against each other.
Quizzes have already become a tradition for the JINR youth, often played at both city tournaments and conferences. Come and find your dream team to show who's the smartest!
