status: When will we be able to gather together? What about self-organization?))

Farah Mahmoud:

  • The main theme was only superficially touched upon. It would be prudent to provide a more detailed exposition of the material presented on slide three. It is necessary to clearly outline the main subsystems, define their functional purposes, and present the scale of the subsystems in terms of quantitative measures. I also believe it would be worthwhile to dedicate a slide to each subsystem.
  • slides 5,6: On the subject of existing project solutions concerning the automation of the ALICE experimental facility at the LHC in CERN, we will receive insights from Alexandru Culicov. By the way, here, you only touched DAQ, but that's only one of the subsystems.
  • last slide: SPD you only touched DCS. I think it's not a good plan to compare the DAQ ACLICE architecture to the DCS SPD architecture.
  • and, it would be nice to end your presentation with a SUMMARY slide
  • Nevertheless, for the next step, I propose that you once again detail the functional division into subsystems. focus only ATLAS.

Alexandru Culicov:

  • awaiting new results

Oscar Vázquez Lara:

  • Your task was more about fundamental issues of automation in the theoretical plane, namely: standardization, methodology.
  • ALICE and aliROOT shouldn't have been involved. ROOT is a framework for data processing in research on high-energy physics. However, it's essential to realize that this is only one specific instance. The object of our consideration is full range of automated systems. Fundamentally, it's an intriguing question - how many various frameworks exist and how did CERN arrive at this devision.
  • SWOT Analysis is a strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a project. If you're interested in conducting a SWOT analysis, you can do so for our "virtual" project titled "Devision of Automated Systems for Experiment ficility at the Collider". But it's important to understand that this is not the main part of your task.
  • Let's revisit the goals once again. It's to identify standards and methodologies for designing automated systems on a global scale, which we could apply in designing a complex of automated systems for the experimental setup at the collider. primarily we're talking about the survey and design phases. It would be great to receive information from you in this focus.
  • I was expecting more information on life cycles and the formulated requirements for their results according to ISO 12207.
  • for example: In what fields, in what sequence, and what types of project solutions need to be formulated based on international industry standards?

In this task I have not prepared a presentation, but rather an information report where in a general way I  explain the considerations that a collider project must take into account, specifically in experimental set up, following international standards and methodologies, I am not talking about specifically about the operation of the systems of a project, but so that any collider can take into account the documentation and general processes necessary for its implementation.
