Taxi for Dubna
Sheremetyevo is the nearest to Dubna airport which is placed 115 km to the north from Moscow. As mentioned in our first circular, the Organizing Committee provides on main arrival (July 8) and departure (July 13) days the direct bus transfer between the airport Sheremetyevo and Dubna. The cost of this transfer is included into the registration fee. On July 8, the bus will depart in evening from the terminal Sheremetyevo D. The trip to Dubna takes about 2 hours. The back trip Dubna - Sheremetyevo will start on July 13 early in the morning. More exact time will be announced at the beginning of the next week. Unfortunately, because of much longer distance and often traffic jams, we are not able to provide the bus transfer from/to airports Domodedovo and Vnukovo.
INDIVIDUAL ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
If you arrive to Dubna by yourself, then the following options are possible.
The direct airexpress train circulates between Sheremetyevo and Belorusskiy railway station in Moscow (the time schedule). The trip takes 35 minutes. The ticket price is 500 rubles. Then you should get by metro the Savelovsky railway station (grey line, metro station (m.) "Savelovskaya"). The trip has one transfer (m. "Novoslobodskaya" -> m. "Mendeleevskaya"). The price of metro ticket is 55 rub, no payment for the luggage. At the Savelovsky railway station you can take the direct express Moscow-Dubna (price ~520 rub). Note that on Friday and Sunday evening all the tickets for the express may be sold out in advance. In this case you can get Dubna by a local train or by bus. The bus stop is placed at the railway station square (to the right, if to see to the railway station building). See the attached file with the time schedule of local trains and buses. Note that Savelovsky railway station has no any luggage chambers or cells. Further, see to get hotel in Dubna ->
The direct express train will get you from airport to Paveletsky railway station in Moscow, see the time schedule here. The price of the ticket is 500 rub, trip takes 45 min, trains circulate every 30 minutes. The tickets can be bought in the airport book-office near the exit to the train platform. After getting Moscow you should use the metro (station (m.) "Paveletskaya" - green line - with the entrance inside the railway building) and get the Savelovsky railway station (m. "Savelovskaya"-grey line). The trip with one transfer (m. "Tverskaya" -> m. "Chekhovskaya") will take 20-30 min. The price of metro ticket is 55 rub, no payment for the luggage. Be careful with using taxi in Moscow. Use only a registered taxi which has a taxi label at the car. The prices are unpredictable. To avoid unpleasant situations, always ask the driver to write the price (at least approximate) before starting the trip. If the driver does not tell the approximate price in advance, it is better not to use this taxi. If you need a bill, ask about this option in advance since quite often the bills are not provided. Please take into account that drivers and other people in service usually speak only Russian. So, to avoid any misunderstanding, please write your request in advance on the piece of paper and ask for the written response.
Please take into account that Dubna has 2 railway stations: "Bolshaya Volga" and terminal "Dubna". Both are inside the city and have a good bus/taxi connection with any part of the city. However, the terminal station "Dubna" is much closer to the Dubna hotel (address: Vekslera street, 8) (~400 m) where the participants will reside. Do not use a bus to get the hotel from the terminal station "Dubna". Instead, it is much easier to get the hotel on foot or by taxi (60-70 rub). The taxi in Dubna is cheap and safe.
Unfortunately, almost all afternoon trains arrive only in Railway station "Bolshaya Volga". Only some evening trains arrive in station "Dubna". "Bolshaya Volga" is quite far from the hotel (~ 40-60 min on foot). If you arrive to the railway station “Bolshaya Volga", it is also not so difficult to get the hotel “Dubna” (Vekslera street, 8). The most simple, is to take taxi (price is about 100-150 rub). Next way – is to take town bus №112, 11 (direction ЗЖБИ), and 13 (price 40 rub). If you take the bus your bus stop is Vokzal Dubna (listen to the announcer)/ This is the nearest to the hotel “Dubna” bus stop (~ 300 m). When you get down from the bus you should go to right and follow up to Vavilova str. Next, please turn right. And go along Vavilova street. Further, please follow the map of Institute part of the Dubna [pdf].
