This workshop is the latest in a series of such joint events that take place every two years, alternately in Dubna and South Africa.
The first such meeting was a small one, held in Kruger Park in January 2007. Since then, the topics of the meeting have expanded significantly, reflecting the growing number of joint research projects.
The main goal of our meetings remains the same, namely, to expand contacts and form new scientific collaborations. This is why the announced list of topics is so broad. At the same time, its breadth imposes certain requirements on the form of scientific talks.
Since our meeting brings together participants whose scientific interests overlap little or not at all, it is expected that the talks will be presented in a simple and understandable form, which is often called "for non-specialists".
The main emphasis in the talks should be on an overview of the basic ideas in a given area. The original results obtained by the speaker may occupy only a small part of the presentation.
We hope that our meeting, conducted in this way, will allow all its participants to get a general idea of what is being done in various areas of theoretical physics. We are confident that direct communication between researchers will form new collaborations.
Conference topics include:
- Nuclear structure and reactions
- Particles and quantum fields
- Atoms and their interactions
- Solid-state theory
- Artificial-intelligence methods
Important dates:
Registration and abstract submission deadline: 25 May
Program committee decision communicated to authors of abstracts: 31 May
Workshop will open on June 23, 2024 in the conference hall of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Istitute of Nuclear Research (for directions see link to Google Maps below).
