Description

The ALICE experiment at the LHC is designed to explore the properties of the quark-gluon plasma – hot and dense medium produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The photon spectrometer (PHOS) of the ALICE experiment is a high-granularity PbWO4 crystal calorimeter which is intended to measure neutral meson spectra and direct photons in different colliding systems.
In this talk we report an overview of the PHOS performance during Run 2 and Run 3 and present recent results from ALICE on the neutral meson measurements in pp, p-Pb, and Pb-Pb collisions.
