Description
Information technologies are one of the key drivers of the development strategy and progress in scientific studies. Their development contributes to enhancing the quality of research, speeding up getting results and new scientific knowledge, effective management, emerging novel forms of the education system, improving communication and interaction between scientists and providing access to a wide range of information.
The fast evolution of IT, from the one hand, and its rapid obsolescence, on the other, stimulate demand for new research and development. The development of supercomputer calculations (HPC), clouds, networks, novel architectures and principles of organizing computations entail the transformation of software and infrastructure solutions leading to innovative changes in the strategy of scientific studies.
A concept for the development of IT-technologies and scientific computing can be formulated; it is aimed at providing the solution of strategic problems facing JINR through the introduction and development of a whole range of novel IT-solutions integrated into a unified information and computing environment, i.e. a scientific IT-ecosystem combining a great number of various technological solutions, concepts and principles.
