Dear colleagues,
The 2020 marked 120 years since the birth of an outstanding scientist, Nikolay Wladimirovich Timofeeff-Ressovsky. Nikolay Wladimirovich made important discoveries in several areas of biology: genetics, radiobiology, radioecology and evolution. The conference, which we are holding for the fifth time, is formed on the topics of scientific research of Timofeeff-Ressovsky. He had many students in different countries.
The first biophysicists in Armenia were students of Nikolay Wladimirovich: Ts.M. Avakyan, N. Simonyan, R. Atayan, A. Zurabyan and others. On the recommendations of Timofeeff-Ressovsky, a Laboratory of Biophysics was created at the Yerevan Physical Institute. The students organized the Readings in memory of N.W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky in Armenia (Yerevan, 1983) when his name was still banned. We celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Timofeeff-Ressovsky in Yerevan.
This conference is dedicated to our teachers. First of all, to N.W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky and to his scientific school.
