Description

The international XVIII-th Winter School "Many-particle systems: from condensed matter to quarks and stars" organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR (Dubna) in the framework of the program DIAS-TH will be held from January 29 to February 3, 2024.

Topics

  • Theoretical description of interacting fermion systems
  • Cold fermion gases
  • Vacuum instabilities and phase transitions
  • Properties of the QCD matter
  • Problem of the quark-gluon confinement
  • Properties of compact stars

The participants will be mostly young theorists (master and PhD students and young postdocs) and possibly experimentalists who work in the application of many-body technics to strongly interacting systems such as in neutron stars, cold atomic gases, and quark-gluon matter.

The school will be held at the Conference Hall of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. January 28 (Sun) is the arrival and February 3 is the departure day.

Working languages are English and Russian.

The hotel cost (including breakfast), coffee breaks, and social events are covered by the Organizing Committee. There will be limited funds for travel support.

Those interested in participating are kindly requested to register via this website by January 15, 2024. The number of participants is limited to 60, so prompt submission of application is encouraged. Participation in the School only by invitation of the Organizing Committee.
