Description

Welcome to GRID'2014!

The 6th International Conference "Distributed Computing and Grid-technologies in Science and Education" will be held at the Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT) of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) on 30 June - 5 July 2014 in Dubna.

Dubna is a small quiet town located 130 km north from Moscow on the picturesque banks of the Volga River. There is a convenient railway and bus communication from Moscow to Dubna.

The 5th conference on this topic took place at the Laboratory of information technologies, JINR in June, 2012 (http://grid2012.jinr.ru/). The Conference Proceedings are available both as hard copies and on-line(“Distributed Computing and Grid-technologies in Science and Education”, Dubna, JINR, 2012. 419 p. ISBN 978-5-9530-0345-2, http://grid2012.jinr.ru/docs/grid2012.pdf).

This is a unique Conference, held in Russia on the questions related to the use of Grid-technologies in various areas of science, education, industry and business.

The main purpose of the Conference is to discuss the current Grid operation and future role of the Grid in Russia and worldwide, similar technologies for data-intensive computations: cloud computing, BigData etc. The Conference provides a way for discussing fresh results and for establishing contacts for closer cooperation in future.

Programme of the Conference includes plenary reports in English (30 min), sectional reports (15 min) and poster presentations (in English or Russian).

The workshop “Computing models, Software and Data Processing for the future HENP experiments” co-located  with  conference will be organize on June 30 - July 2, Co-chair: Dr. I. Bird (CERN), Dr. A. Klimentov (BNL), Dr. V. Korenkov (JINR)
